I created a modern and user-friendly website for an old furniture business, designed to showcase vintage pieces, facilitate easy browsing, and enable seamless online purchasing.
My role involved creating a platform that would showcase the company’s range of vintage and refurbished furniture, facilitate easy product browsing, and provide a seamless online shopping experience. I handled UX/UI design, front-end and back-end development, and integrated a PostgreSQL database to manage product listings and customer orders.
The design process began with wireframes and prototypes created in Figma, focusing on creating a vintage yet modern aesthetic that would resonate with customers interested in old, restored furniture. The website features a user-friendly layout with clear product categories, high-quality images of the furniture, and detailed descriptions. I ensured the design captured the essence of craftsmanship, highlighting the uniqueness of each piece while providing an intuitive browsing experience.
For the front-end, I used React to create a dynamic, responsive interface that would work seamlessly across all devices. HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript were employed to build an engaging site with smooth transitions and product filters, making it easy for users to find furniture based on style, size, or price. The website was optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, ensuring users could browse and shop with ease from any platform.
The back-end of the website was developed using Node.js and integrated with a PostgreSQL database to manage the product catalog, customer orders, and inventory. I built secure and efficient APIs to handle product searches, order processing, and customer data management. The website also includes an admin panel, allowing the business to update listings, track sales, and manage customer inquiries. Security measures, including user authentication and data encryption, were implemented to protect sensitive information.
